Saturday, January 14, 2017, I was hiking with my dog Rufus up the Churchhill trail. Only 30 feet from the trail, Rufus got caught in a full body trap that crushed him down to about 2 inches wide. I thought for sure he would die. He was in extreme agony and barely able to breathe. I’m a strong guy, but it was with very great difficulty that I was able to open the trap to free him, and it injured my hand in the process. So both human and dog were victims of this randomly and recklessly placed hazard to safety.
